This programme is a celebration of opposites! Bernstein was born 100 years ago, in the same year as Debussy died. The recital contains both colourful American melodies in Bernstein’s Halil and in Harrison’s multicultural Concerto pitting flute and percussion against each other in a playful dialogue. The other half of the programme is dedicated to the lucid and fantastic French tones of flute, viola and harp.
