Ludwig van Beethoven: The Creatures of Prometheus
Prometheus was a Titan in Greek mythology who created humans and gave them the gift of fire. The young Beethoven wrote the music for a ballet based on the myth; the theme from its finale is better known as the theme of the finale of his Eroica Symphony. A concert version of this rarely performed work is featured as part of the Music in the Cathedral festival.
The length of the concert is approx. 1h 15min. No intermission.
