Andreas Helling

Andreas Helling entered the Turku Conservatory at the age of six as a student of Matti Vuoristo and Timo Hanhinen. Helling furthered his studies in 1992 at the Royal College of Music as a student of Professor Ola Karlsson, and continued his studies at the Sibelius Academy as a student of Martti Rousi, Victoria Yagling, and Raimo Sariola. In 2002 Helling ranked third at the Turku Cello Competition and completed the degree examination with honors from the Sibelius Academy. In 2007 Helling received a Master of Music degree.

Andreas Helling has participated in various master classes given by teachers, such as, Robert Cohen, David Geringas, Frans Helmerson, Julius Berger, and Siegmund Nissel. He has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and given recitals in various countries, for example, Moldova, Poland, Sweden, France, England, Italy, and Austria. Since 2002 Helling has held the position of section principal at the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra and given cello lessons in Naantali and Turku.
