Andreas Boyde has a capacity for electrifying audiences. His performances of Gershwin’s classic Rhapsody in Blue, occupying middle ground between concert music and jazz, have been widely acclaimed. In this programme, he is given a further outing in Stravinsky’s Concerto. Following the theme of American music from the 1920s and 1930s, the programme includes Barber’s first work for full orchestra, the best-known work of Harris and Copland’s folk-inspired ballet suite.
