Henna Jämsä

Henna Jämsä studied at the Sibelius Academy as a student of Anna-Maija Korsimaa and Harri Mäki, and received her Master of Music degree with honors in 2003. She furthered her studies in Stockholm at the Royal College of Music as a student of Hermann Stefansson, Kjell-Inge Stevensson, and Niklas Andersson, and in various master classes in Finland and abroad as a student of Yehuda Gilad, Charles Neidich, Antony Pay, Martin Fröst, and Ronald van Spaendonc – and debuted in 2006. Ms. Jämsä has worked at the Lapland Chamber Orchestra (1999-2000), Oulu Symphony Orchestra (2000-2001), Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra (2004-2005), and Lahti Symphony Orchestra.

Henna Jämsä has been part of the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra since 2002 and, at the moment, holds the position of sub-principal clarinetist. In addition, she has assisted in most of the professional orchestras in Finland, such as Tapiola Sinfonietta, RSO, Orchestra of the Finnish National Opera, Avanti!, and Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra. As a soloist, she has performed with the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra, RSO, and the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra. Moreover, Ms. Jämsä works as a part-time teacher at the Turku Arts Academy. She is also an active chamber musician and she has performed in various summer festivals, such as Naantali Music Festival, Nauvo Music Festival, and Sonkajärvi Soi music festivals as well as at the Savonlinna Opera Festival.
